day 1: mom as if no one is watching ...even if all eyeballs are on you 

your kiddo is having one of those stage five screaming with all they've got situations in public - a restaurant, the grocery store, or god forbid - an airplane

you know how to handle it because this isn't your first rodeo but handling it in public is a different beast

you feel the eyes and your mind is running through what they must be thinking - "wow, she just lets her scream like that", "why doesn't she just make him stop", "that mom doesn't know what she's doing"

you want to feel like you and your child are the only people on the planet so you can give all of your energy and focus to helping them coregulate and calm down because you, more than anyone, want the screaming to stop

but its hard when you feel like the next move you make is the superbowl halftime show for everyone that's watching. you dont want to care what they think but there is a part of you thats sweating at the thought of them judging how you mom your way through this moment

at the end of day 1 you'll know exactly how to tune out all of the noise and not have a care in the world who is watching. feel like no matter what the screaming is about, you know exactly what to do without giving a flying f*ck about what anyone around you thinks.

day 2: live your life and parent without a care in the world of if anyone else approves

you prioritize how loved your child feels, how emotionally well they are, and how equipped they are to handle their emotions over how many manners they use, how well they sit still, and how much they "respect authority" 

you feel really good about it because you know you want to mom differently than your mom but the unsolicited opinions from family or friends still get under your skin sometimes

the little comments about how you parent, what choices you make, or how you live your life take up space in your mind

you want to feel so solid that you don’t even flinch when someone makes a comment or questions you  

at the end of day 2 you'll be so unshakeable that the opinions of others don't even register and will no longer take up any energy or headspace

day 3: set boundaries with as much confidence as a three-year-old declaring they’re not tired

as a mom, your time, energy, and emotional well-being are freaking precious

setting clear boundaries with family, friends, and even strangers is essential to protecting your peace and staying true to your parenting values

but it feels hard when you are worried about hurting someones feelings, disappointing someone, or appearing anything but strong af

at the end of day 3 you'll feel so capable of establishing and maintaining boundaries that honor your needs and your family’s priorities, without guilt or hesitation
